Micron recently reached the first concrete pour for its new semiconductor fabrication facility in Clay, New York, marking a visible step in a planned U.S. manufacturing expansion exceeding $250 billion through 2035. The project is part of a broader semiconductor buildout that has pushed chip production back into the center of America’s industrial landscape. Micron reached the first concrete milestone at its New York semiconductor fabrication facility in early July, moving the project from site preparation into vertical construction more than a quarter ahead of schedule.

The company said the project is part of a broader U.S. investment plan exceeding $250 billion through 2035 focused on domestic semiconductor manufacturing.

The Semiconductor Industry Association reported that companies had announced more than $395 billion in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing investments in the United States since the introduction of the CHIPS and Science Act in 2022.

The U.S. Department of Commerce CHIPS Program Office has announced funding agreements and preliminary agreements supporting semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, and supply-chain projects.
